Calm Before The Storm.

It's 7:45pm at my house and it is completely silent aside from the tipper tapper of my keys on the keyboard. Rosemary is no longer napping and I'm no longer trying to hold on to hope that maybe she will, so bedtime has been moved up in an effort to spare her of the evening meltdown that seemed to have become part of our routine day. I think it's working because I have had my sweet little girl back the past couple days.


It was a pretty quiet day around here today, most definitely the calm before the storm...and I'm not kidding. Starting tomorrow until our complete date of Friday, June 3rd (2 weeks from tomorrow), things are going to be out.of.control. I refused to honor the request of the cabinet maker to push the painters back a week and therefore the cabinet installers will be here working through the weekend. The carpenter will be back on Sunday to finish up the remaining trim once the cabinets are in and that is the ONLY way we'll be 100% ready for the painters on Monday. If you remember, I decided to have two separate crews of painters - 1 for the interior and 1 for the exterior in an effort to GET IT DONE! It's going to be crazy! The exterior painters have projected it will take them 3 days with 3 painters working (assuming the weather holds up). Hopefully they'll move right along so we can get the exterior crew back out here building the deck. We are hoping the interior painting crew will be done by Friday in an effort to get the wood floors buffed and final coated before next week (DARN YOU MEMORIAL DAY!) Here's how our final push is going down:

Friday - Interior Painting, Exterior Deck Building
Saturday - Wood Floor Final Coat - Off floors for 24 hours
Sunday - Not allowed on floors

Monday (Memorial Day) - We move back into our house
Tuesday - Appliances Delivered, Plumber Final Install, Electrician Final Install, Exterior Deck Building
Wednesday - Countertop Install (please oh pretty please), Exterior Deck Building?, Plumber/Electrician final details?
Thursday - Wallpaper Install, Security System Install, Exterior Deck Building?
Friday - CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do I seem to be a complete maniac about being done on Friday, June 3rd you ask? Because it's the day of Gloria's first birthday party at...our house! A few weeks ago, I started panicking and tried to move the party back another week. However, when I was reminded that a good 2/3rds of my immediate family will be out of town that weekend, I reverted back to my original plan and vowed to complete the house before her party. I will not be one bit surprised if they are literally installing cabinet hardware as the guests arrive - but our family expects nothing less of us these days and likely wouldn't even notice:-)

Here are the final shots of the garage that was completed today. It's looking rather dapper with its new roof. Painted, it will look brand new.



I know I go on and on about how much I love having girls...but seriously...look at them?


We struck dress-up gold at a garage sale this morning and the girls were all dressed up for the big ball that the prince was holding. Jeff and I were laughing uncontrollably at Gloria in her little feather number. She wore it for at least 2 hours. They are sooooooooooooooooo unbelievably sweet!
