It's been one of those days... The day started off with a meeting with our architect and cabinet maker that was pretty intense as it meant walking through each set of cabinetry in the house (there are 5 sets of them in all) and sorting through all of the details of every single piece. Here THEY are sorting through details while I took their picture:
We also picked up the tile for the mudroom/entryway and powder bath, returned some light fixtures, delivered dinner, attended a surprise 50th birthday party, watched Jeff's 10:30pm hockey game and just finally sat down at home now that it's 12:10am (tried to get this post done while it was still Friday...but no luck).
Today I am feeling "Project Fatigue." I capitalize the title to give it the reverence it deserves because it's only through a crap load of planning and work that you get to this point. I'm tired out and my project isn't finished yet and it's affecting my attention to detail.
As I was opening the back of our Suburban today to pull out the light fixtures, an entire box of 10, 12x12" tiles fell directly on to my foot. OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! That was pretty much the end of my positive attitude for the day...sorry Jeff;-)
Anyway, I'm rambling here, but it's only because I'm keeping it real. All projects go through highs and lows and although the work is continuing to forge ahead at record pace, that doesn't mean that the days don't get long and the decisions don't seem endless. With the drywall being sanded tomorrow, the painters coming in on Monday and the flooring going in before the end of the week, hopefully I'll find my second wind and get back on my game. In the meantime, you can find me icing my foot.
Snap out of it Sarah! More to come next week, but I wanted to leave you with a shot of how that arch turned out that the drywallers were working on properly contouring all week. Here are the before and afters.
Early stages above still lacking the point we were going for. Below is the final product:
While it might not seem all that different, it's certainly making this tired mama happy. A fantastic weekend to you and yours!
